2016 International Prader-Willi Syndrome Organisation Conference Call for Scientific Conference Abstracts

The International Prader-Willi Syndrome Organisation and Conference Host, FPWR Canada, invite you to join world experts on Prader-Willi syndrome at the 2016 IPWSO Scientific Conference, on Thursday, July 21 and Friday, July 22 at the Sheraton Centre Hotel Toronto.

We now invite the submission of abstracts that describe new developments in scientific research on Prader-Willi syndrome. Topics can include but are not limited to molecular and cellular aspects of PWS, preclinical and clinical studies, and mental health in PWS. We welcome abstracts from researchers, clinicians, and trainee in many sectors including
academia, industry, education and government.

Instructions for Preperation

  • The abstract should be typed on a single page in Times New Roman font, size 12, with 2.5 cm margins, to a maximum of 3000 characters including spaces. Please do not include figures, charts or references in the abstract.
  • Begin with the title at the top of the page in bold type, centered on the page.
  • Skip a line, then provide the names of the authors, with the name of the presenting author underlined.
  • Skip a line, then list the affiliations of all the authors, in the same order as they appear in the author list.
  • Skip a line, then begin the abstract. Abstracts should be divided into the following sections: Background, Methods and Results, Conclusions, Summary. The Summary should be 2-3 sentences and be written in plain language for a lay audience.
  • Save in a format readable by Microsoft Word with the file name “last name, first name” of the presenting author (numbered if the presenting author is submitting more than one abstract).
  • If submitting multiple abstracts, send them in separate emails. When submitting, include the following information for the presenting author in the email, with the abstract as an attachment:
    • Name
    • E-mail address, Mailing address, Telephone number
    • Preference for talk or poster. The Scientific Conference Organizing Committee will make final decisions about the presentation format. Most of the presentations will be in poster format. The formatting instructions for posters and talks will be provided upon acceptance of the abstract.
    • Indicate if the presenting author is a trainee (student or fellow) and therefore eligible for a poster prize.
