Parent Sharing Day
A day for caregivers and organizations to unite, share and laugh together!
Saturday, April 16, 1:00pm – 4:30pm
(Hosted by OPWSA, in partnership with FPWR)
Saturday afternoon, OPWSA joins forces with FPWR Canada to offer our community a unique opportunity for learning, sharing and storytelling. Toronto Playback Theatre will facilitate a fun, interactive dramatic performance based on our stories about life with PWS. We’ll then have a chance to break out into parent-led groups to talk more and share experiences, ideas and recommendations for families and caregivers.
|1:00 – 2:30||Toronto Playback Theatre: expect laughter, tears, and everything in between as these wonderful actors help us find new meaning in our roles as parents, siblings and caregivers.|
|2:30 – 3:00||Coffee break|
|3:00 – 4:30||Small group “care and share” sessions (grouped by age)|

Toronto Playback Theatre is dedicated to listening to people’s stories and transforming them spontaneously into theatre. Playback Theatre aims to create a space where every voice and any story – however ordinary, extraordinary, hidden or difficult – might be heard and told. It is committed to a theatre that values community, service, and the possibility of personal and social transformation through art. What audiences are saying about Toronto Playback Theatre:
“Very engaging, moving, joyful, funny ,sad. Much admiration for actors – such talent, courage and freedom! I found it stimulating, creatively leading me inward and outward at the same time. Inspiring, rejuvenating, reflective. Thanks!”
“I was touched by the honesty, courage and risk of the audience to tell their stories and the sensitivity of the actors and the depth which they achieved in their portrayals. I was moved to tears several times as well as laughing out loud. Thank you.”
“What a delightful, thought provoking evening. I didn’t particularly come to tell my story but it becomes clear at this intentional community event that that’s why we are here – to tell, to engage, to feel deeply together. Bravo!”
